The Second International Conference of the National Neuroscience Society of Romania: Neuronal Excitability - From Molecular Level to System, Bucharest, Romania, September 1-3, 2006.

The Conference will be held at the Romanian Academy Library, Bucharest, Romania, September 1-3, 2006. The Conference programme will consist of lectures from international and Romanian speakers and poster presentations, and will integrate "Neuronal excitability" topic in a wider Neuroscience perspective to provide interdisciplinary and general context and to cover both the basic science and clinical aspects of current neuroscience research.
The meeting will include two Workshop sessions on the same topic as the conference, during which lectures and practical demonstrations will be organized. The Workshop sessions will be held at the Center for Excellence in Neuroscience, "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Young Investigator Awards provided by IBRO CEERC will be available for young scientists (below age 35) from Central and Eastern Europe on the basis of their application. The awards will cover registration fees, accommodation costs and limited travel costs, depending on the budget. The applicants should submit an abstract for poster presentation, a short CV including contact details, a publication list and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor or laboratory/institute head.

A reduced fee and accommodation arrangements will also be provided for all other young scientists. Best posters will be selected for prizes and be given the opportunity for short oral presentations during the conference.
