Two positions are available in Dr. Tamas F. Freund's laboratory (Laboratory of Cerebral Cortex Research, Dept Cellular and Network Neurobiology, Institute of Experimental Medicine) for researchers in their early postdoctoral period.
We are focusing on the role of different inhibitory neurons in hippocampal function, with special emphasis on their involvement in epileptogenesis and anxiety.
One position is open for a candidate with previous experience in neuroanatomy (immunohistochemistry, ligh- and electron microscopy), added bonus is experience in quantitative light and electron microscopical methods and 3D reconstruction of electron microscopical sections.
The other position is open for a candidate with experience in electrophysiology (submerged in vitro slice preparation, whole-cell and field recording, pharmacilogical studies of synaptic transmission).
For both position we are looking for candidates with a PhD degree early in their carrier and a strong motivation to pursue a scientific career. We expect the candidates to be able to elaborate and carry out projects matching the laboratories current interest.
Applicants should send a brief description of research interests, curriculum vitae and possibly 2 reference letters to Attila Gulyas
